Why has Wellwoman® been developed?

Wellwoman® has been scientifically developed for women to contain a wide spectrum of nutrients and trace elements to help safeguard dietary requirements for the demands of today's modern lifestyle. Wellwoman® is a comprehensive formula containing nutrients to help support the areas of health, which are of most interest to women: - natural mixed cartenoids, Vitamin E and Zinc are necessary to help maintain healthy skin and for cell renewal; antioxidant vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C and citrus bioflavonoids, to help maintain a healthy immune system; magnesium and Vitamin B complex are required for the release of energy from food. The Monthly Cycle-starflower oil and evening primrose oil to help maintain healthy hormone balance; plus iron for blood formation and vitamin B6 to help maintain a healthy nervous system; conception-vitamin B12, along with 400 mcg folic acid, which is recommended for a baby's healthy development, when you are trying to conceive and when you are pregnant.[Top]

When is Wellwoman® recommended?

Wellwoman® is recommended for women of all ages as a daily nutritional safeguard for general health and vitality. Wellwoman® is ideal for those women leading an active lifestyle.[Top]

Can Wellwoman® be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding?

During pregnancy, we would recommend a multivitamin supplement specially formulated for pregnancy, such as Pregnacare®. Pregnacare® (from Vitabiotics) contains a careful combination of 16 vitamins and minerals, specially developed for use from before conception, throughout the whole of pregnancy, and also while breast-feeding. Pregnacare® is recommended as soon as you start trying for a baby. However, there is no problem if you become pregnant while taking Wellwoman®, since it contains the recommended level of 400 µg folic acid, and vitamin B12, which play an important role in the development of the unborn baby, before you even know you are pregnant. Wellwoman® may also be used during breast-feeding if required.[Top]

Can Wellwoman® be used with other medicines simultaneously?

Generally, Wellwoman® may be used alongside other medications, because it contains only moderate levels of vitamins and minerals, and is free from any drugs or hormones. Wellwoman® may also be used alongside the contraceptive pill. For specific advice on taking Wellwoman® with other medicines, we recommend that you contact your doctor or pharmacist first.[Top]

How and when should Wellwoman® be used?

One capsule per day is recommended with or immediately after your main meal. Swallow with a full glass of water or a cold drink, without chewing. Taking the capsule with a large meal maximizes the absorption of the nutrients, and can reduce nausea, which is sometimes experienced if multivitamins are taken on an empty stomach. Wellwoman® should only be taken on a full stomach. Always ensure that Wellwoman® is taken with plenty of liquid to wash the capsule down, and not tea or coffee, as this may cause the capsule to disintegrate too early.[Top]

Are there any undesired effects while taking Wellwoman® ?

Wellwoman® has no known side effects when taken as directed. Do not exceed the recommended capsule intake. In case of overdose, seek medical advice immediately.[Top]

What are the active ingredients?

Wellwoman® contains the following active ingredients per capsule: Starflower Oil 100 mg; Evening Primrose Oil 100 mg; Vitamin D3 (200 IU) 5 mcg; Vitamin E (natural source) 30 mg; Vitamin C 60 mg; Vitamin B1 10 mg; Vitamin B2 5 mg; Niacin 36 mg; Vitamin B6 20 mg; Folic acid 400 mcg; Vitamin B12 20 mcg; Biotin 50 mcg; Pantothenic acid 6 mg; Vitamin K 90 mcg; Natural Mixed Carotenoids 2 mg; Iron 12 mg; Magnesium 100 mg; Zinc 12 mg; Manganese 2.5 mg; Copper 1.5 mg; Selenium 100 mcg; Chromium 50 mcg; P.A.B.A. 30 mg; and Citrus Bioflavonoids Complex 10 mg. Wellwoman® is free from artificial colorings, gluten, preservatives, starch, sugar, salt and yeast. Wellwoman® has not been tested on animals.[Top]

How long does it take to experience any benefit?

Results vary amongst individuals, but in most cases, we would expect the beneficial effects of the vitamins and minerals in Wellwoman® to build over several weeks, with noticeable results in one to three months. There is no maximum length of time over which Wellwoman® may be used. A regular intake is recommended.[Top]

Is Wellwoman® recommended with any other Vitabiotics product(s)?

Calcium is an essential mineral, important for maintenance of strong, healthy bones. However, it has not been included in the Wellwoman® formula, since it is not possible to include the right amount in one small capsule, and secondly, calcium is known to inhibit the absorption of iron and trace elements. Rather than including just a token amount of calcium, Wellwoman® has therefore been designed so that it can be used with Vitabiotics' Osteocare® tablets or liquid. For best results, we recommend they be taken at separate times of the day, at least an hour apart.[Top]
