Many of us try to catch up on our sleep at the weekend but wonder why we still feel tired and sluggish after 10 hours sleep. This is because the body does not cope well with irregular sleep patterns, try to limit this shift by going to bed 1-2 hrs later and getting up 1-2 hrs later, rather than crashing at 4am and getting up some time in the afternoon!

General tips!

A well-timed cup of coffee can do wonders before something important like an interview - research shows caffeine can improve our reactions times and general mental alertness.
Having a period is a good excuse to eat little and often. You also get full reign with pasta and potatoes as the key to controlling PMS is regulating your blood sugar (carbohydrates are converted to blood sugar).
You don't have to go to the gym if you don't want to, just introduce more physical activity in your life like gardening or walking - try taking the stairs instead of the lift or walk instead of taking the bus.
Eating celery uses more calories than you consume - great, if you like celery.
Don't do faddy diets. Research shows that people who go on unusual diets are less likely to stick to them than people who take a more relaxed attitude. Apart from this, they are more likely to leave you deficient in important nutrients.
The important thing to remember is that you can't do all of this all of the time - so don't let it stop you having fun. Smiling and laughing help promote endorphins, which make you feel good and might even help you live longer!

And don't forget

Make sure you have regular smear tests.

Check your breasts for irregular lumps at the same time each month, including the area going into the armpit.
Encourage your friends to look after themselves as well.
